This course starts exactly where that one left off, going deeper into techniques that scene deliberately left aside.
Recapping Blender Fundamentals' Own Scope
That course covered whole-object manipulation, a mesh's own vertices/edges/faces, the core Extrude/Bevel/Loop Cut modeling toolkit, the Principled BSDF's own basic material properties, Point/Sun/Spot/Area lamps, keyframe-based animation, and choosing between Eevee and Cycles for a final render. Every one of those concepts is assumed as a comfortable starting point here, not re-taught from scratch.
What This Course Adds: Sculpting, Modifiers, UV Unwrapping, Shading, Rigging, Physics, Compositing
This course introduces Sculpting as a genuinely different modeling paradigm from Edit Mode's own vertex-by-vertex editing, Modifiers for non-destructive modeling, UV Unwrapping for mapping a 3D surface onto a 2D texture, the node-based Shader Editor for far more control than Chapter 6 of Blender Fundamentals' own basic material properties, Rigging and character animation, an introduction to physics simulation, and Compositing — combining rendered passes after the fact rather than getting everything perfect in a single render.
Who This Course Is For
Anyone comfortable with Blender Fundamentals' own core workflow — navigating confidently, modeling a simple shape with Extrude/Bevel/Loop Cuts, setting up a basic material and a three-point lighting rig, and keyframing a simple animation — is ready for this course. None of the techniques covered here assume any professional 3D background beyond that.
What This Course Still Won't Cover
This course stays focused on Blender's own single-application workflow — it doesn't cover exporting assets into a real-time game engine, setting up a distributed render farm for large-scale production rendering, or team-based collaborative production pipelines. Those are genuinely separate, much larger topics in their own right, outside the scope of what either Blender course on this site sets out to teach.
