entra1-9 Exercise 2: The 30-Day Reminder ========================================================= Source: Course chapters 8 and 9; Microsoft Learn credential guidance. Re-check dates and steps before sending. SUGGESTED MESSAGE Subject: Reminder: connection expires on 20 October. 15 minutes needed this week Hello , A quick follow-up to our message in July. The credential that lets connect to your Microsoft Entra tenant expires on 20 October (19 days from now). If it isn't replaced first, your nightly sync will stop and your users will not be able to sign in to from that day. The renewal is short and safe: your administrator creates a second credential alongside the current one, we install it and test, and nothing is removed until it is confirmed to work. Could you suggest a 15-minute slot this week or early next, for example Thursday 8 October at 10:00? We will join the call, send you the exact steps beforehand, and never need to see a password or secret value. If someone else should handle this, just tell us who and we will contact them directly. Thank you, WHY IT IS WRITTEN THIS WAY - States the date and the consequence plainly without alarm. - Reduces the effort ("15 minutes", "alongside the current one"). - Proposes a specific slot, which gets more replies than "let us know". - Says what each side does and that no secret is requested. - Gives an easy way to redirect it to the right person. - No blame for the earlier non-reply. THREE THINGS TO DO INSIDE THE TEAM THE SAME DAY 1. Mark the register row "at risk" and assign an internal owner for the renewal, with the date for the next step (the 14-day install/prove). 2. Identify a second contact at Fabrikam (account manager, other administrators) and the escalation route if the IT manager stays silent. 3. Prepare the runbook for that client: the steps, who installs the value in the product, how to validate, and a rollback if the first attempt fails; check the product's settings to be sure it can hold two credentials. WHY THIS WORKS AS AN ANSWER --- It combines clear, short client communication with internal escalation so the renewal does not depend on a single reply.
