soldiers and police refused to attack protesters.
PARK CHUNG-HEE (Chapter 6): assassinated on 26 October 1979 by the KCIA
director.
PARK GEUN-HYE (this chapter): impeached by the Assembly on 9 December 2016,
upheld by the Constitutional Court on 10 March 2017, then a scheduled election.

DIFFERENCE
The last exit went through a vote and a court ruling. The sources here do not
say whether that process would have worked without the public pressure around
it.
