TASK
The two sources disagree about Chun's sentence. How do you handle it?

APPROACH
- State only what both support: he was tried in 1995-1996, convicted of
  treason and insurrection in 1996, and pardoned in December 1997.
- Report the disagreement openly: one source says the sentence was death,
  later commuted; another says life imprisonment.
- Do not merge them or choose one silently.
- Say the discrepancy is unresolved and needs a primary source such as court
  records.

SENTENCE
"Sources differ on whether Chun was sentenced to death (later commuted) or to
life imprisonment; he was pardoned in December 1997."
