Challenge 2: An Unattended, Auto-Advancing Kiosk Display — Solution Walkthrough

Setting needed: Transitions tab > Advance Slide > "After" (checked),
set to 00:08.00 (8 seconds), applied to all 6 slides (Apply To All).

What this accomplishes:

Every slide automatically advances to the next one exactly 8 seconds
after it appears, with no click, keypress, or any other manual input
required at all. Since the setting is applied via "Apply To All," the
whole 6-slide sequence loops through this same 8-second-per-slide
pacing entirely on its own.

Why "On Mouse Click" would be the wrong choice:

"On Mouse Click" requires an actual person to physically click to
advance each slide — exactly the presenter-controlled pacing this
chapter recommends for a live, human-led presentation (Exercise 1's
own bullet-reveal scenario). An unattended kiosk display has no
presenter standing there to click anything; if "On Mouse Click" were
left as the advance setting, the display would show the first slide
and then simply sit there indefinitely, waiting forever for a click
that will never come, since nobody is present to provide it.

WHY THIS WORKS AS AN ANSWER

This exercise demonstrates the transition-level version of exactly
the same On Click vs. automatic distinction this chapter draws for
individual animations: a human-paced scenario needs an explicit,
presenter-driven trigger; a genuinely unattended scenario needs a
timed, fully automatic one instead — picking the wrong one for the
actual situation either leaves a presenter unable to control pacing,
or leaves an unattended display frozen waiting for input nobody will
ever give it.
