The setting needed:

Slide Show > Slide Show Settings > tick "Loop and repeat after"
(setting a duration if the dialog asks for one). Combined with

cycle through all its slides continuously with no one clicking
through it.

PowerPoint organizes this same capability as one of several distinct,
named presentation MODES in its own Set Up Slide Show dialog —
"Presented by a speaker," "Browsed by an individual," "Browsed at a
kiosk (full screen)" — selected as one exclusive choice from a set of
radio-button options. Impress instead expresses the same underlying
capability as a single CHECKBOX ("Loop and repeat after") inside its
own Slide Show Settings dialog, alongside its other settings, rather
than as one of several named, mutually exclusive modes. The end
result is functionally the same — a continuously looping, unattended
presentation — but PowerPoint frames it as "choose this whole
scenario," while Impress frames it as "turn this one specific
behaviour on."
