Challenge 3: Two People Building the Same Deck Live — Solution Walkthrough

What this demonstrates:

Genuine real-time, simultaneous multi-person editing of the same
presentation — both people building different slides in the exact
same deck at the same moment, each seeing the other's work appear
live as it happens, exactly the same underlying behaviour Chapter 2
described for a shared Doc's text. Neither PowerPoint nor Impress
offers this as a core, built-in capability the same way — PowerPoint's
own co-authoring features have historically been more limited or
added later, and Impress has no equivalent live, cloud-native
simultaneous-editing feature as part of its own core design.

Connecting back to Chapter 2's explanation:

Chapter 2 established that real-time collaboration isn't a bolted-on
extra feature — it falls out naturally from a document (or, here, a
presentation) being one single live cloud object that multiple
sessions connect to directly, rather than separate local copies that
would need reconciling afterward. Slides inherits this exact same
architectural foundation from Chapter 1, applied to slide decks
instead of flowing text — which is precisely why this capability
works here too, and precisely why it's genuinely absent from
PowerPoint's and Impress's own more traditionally file-based designs.

WHY THIS WORKS AS AN ANSWER

This exercise demonstrates that even in a chapter framed around
Slides' genuine LIMITATIONS, the course's own foundational strength
from Chapter 1 (no separate local copies, one live shared object)
still applies fully and remains a genuine, uncontested advantage over
both PowerPoint and Impress.
