klingon_grammar1-7 Exercise 2: Doer Nouns With -wI' ==================================================== "one who eats" Sop + wI' -> SopwI' plural: SopwI'pu' "one who finds" Sam + wI' -> SamwI' plural: SamwI'pu' "one who understands" yaj + wI' -> yajwI' plural: yajwI'pu' The plural is -pu' because each noun names a being who can use language (Chapter 3). Esperanto "one who eats": manĝanto (manĝ- + -anto). Esperanto's -anto and Klingon's -wI' do the same job. (Hungarian does it too: eszik -> evő, "one who eats".)
