Challenge 1: Why Overdub Plus a Written Script Reaches the Highest Ceiling -- Solution Walkthrough Overdub clones the presenter's own voice, letting them generate new spoken narration from typed text rather than needing to speak live during recording. Combined with a script the presenter wrote deliberately -- composed and revised at their own pace, away from a microphone -- this produces narration that can genuinely explain intent (why a choice was made, what tradeoff is being accepted) exactly as fully and precisely as the presenter is able to write it, since nothing about the delivery process constrains or degrades the content itself. This is a higher ceiling than DemoPolish's own mechanism (Chapter 6, cleaning up live narration, which is limited by however clearly the presenter managed to explain things in the moment) and higher than Trupeer's pre-written-script mode (Chapter 7, which reaches similarly deliberate content but voices it with a generic AI voice rather than the presenter's own authentic voice). The condition that has to actually be met for this ceiling to be reached: the presenter has to genuinely invest the time to write a real script with real explanations of intent in it. Overdub itself doesn't generate that reasoning -- it only reads aloud, in the presenter's own voice, whatever text it's given. If the "script" is just a list of clicks to narrate rather than genuine explanation, the result inherits that same shallowness regardless of how good the cloned voice sounds. WHY THIS WORKS AS AN ANSWER ------------------------------ This exercise checks that the reader distinguishes Overdub's own technical capability (voice cloning) from the actual content quality it depends on (a deliberately written script) -- correctly identifying that the tool provides the ceiling, but reaching it still requires real presenter effort, the same "requires real input" pattern already established for DemoPolish and Trupeer.
