Ka Ki Ku
Hiragana 1
Chapter 3 ยท Ka Ki Ku
๐ธ The K Row Begins โ ใ ใ ใ
You know the five vowels. From now on, almost every new character is a consonant + a vowel. Today you meet the first consonant, k, with ใ (ka), ใ (ki) and ใ (ku). The last two, ใ and ใ, come in Chapter 4.
| a | i | u | e | o | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| (vowels) | ใ | ใ | ใ | ใ | ใ |
| k + | ใ | ใ | ใ | ใ | ใ |
Read down a column: k + a = ka, k + i = ki, k + u = ku. Every row of hiragana works this way.
