Exercise 3: Package Version Rules — Possible Solution ====================================================== TASK A package is at 1.3.2 and its author releases 1.4.0 and 2.0.0. Under "Up to Next Major" and "Up to Next Minor," which versions would Xcode accept, and what could the chapter not verify about how the result is recorded? ANSWER - Up to Next Major (starting at 1.3.2): updates until the first digit increases, so 1.4.0 is accepted and 2.0.0 is not. - Up to Next Minor (starting at 1.3.2): stops when the middle number increases, so 1.4.0 is not accepted, and neither is 2.0.0. Only 1.3.x releases would be taken. WHAT IS RECORDED Package.resolved records the exact resolved version each time a package is added or updated. WHAT COULD NOT BE VERIFIED Where Xcode stores Package.resolved for an app project, and whether it should be committed to version control. The sources describe the file for a Swift package's top-level directory.
