WHY REAL BUT MODEST
Two independent sources, in Chapters 6 and 8, describe the identical family
of tactics (poll taxes, literacy tests, grandfather clauses) blocking two
different granted rights decades apart. Two independent cases matching is
stronger than one case alone.

WHY MODEST
It is still only two cases from summaries that mention the pattern in
passing, not a study built to test it. A stronger claim would need more
cases and a source examining disenfranchisement as its own subject.
