Listing Optimization & Mockups
A packaged, well-instructed template from Chapter 6 still needs to be found and to convince a buyer before they've actually used it. Visuals matter more here than raw description text, since a buyer is judging something they can't try before buying.
Mockups By Category
Screenshots of the actual database views — table, board, calendar — showing the structure genuinely in use, not just an empty page.
Realistic context mockups — a social media template on a phone screen, a planner shown printed — rather than a flat design floating on a plain background.
A mockup filled in with realistic example content, so a buyer can picture their own information in the layout rather than seeing an empty template shell.
A screenshot showing genuinely populated example data and any dashboard views, demonstrating the calculations actually working.
Preview Videos & GIFs
A short screen-recording walkthrough is disproportionately valuable for Notion templates specifically — a static screenshot can't show clicking between views or using a template button, but that interactivity is the entire value proposition Chapter 5 described. The other three categories benefit from a video too, but less critically, since a static mockup already communicates most of what they are.
Search Behavior for Templates
Template buyers often search by tool and use case together, not just the use case alone — "notion template freelance client tracker," not just "client tracker." Naming the specific tool directly in the title and tags matters here in a way it doesn't for every product category, since buyers are frequently searching specifically for something built for the tool they already use.
- Does my title name both the specific use case and the specific tool?
- Do my main images show the template genuinely in use, not an empty shell?
- For a Notion template, do I have a short video or GIF showing the interactive views in action?
- Would someone unfamiliar with this tool still understand what they're buying from the images alone?
