Exercise 2.2 - Solution

Four facts (any four): held in 1956 in Lugano, Switzerland; seven countries took part; each country performed two songs; juries decided and the full scores were not announced; Switzerland won, with Lys Assia and "Refrain".

Biggest difference from today (a judgement; any reasoned choice is acceptable): the scores were not announced. Later contests built much of their drama on the public announcement of the scores, whereas in 1956 the audience simply learned the winner.
