Egerszegi won five Olympic golds between 1988 and 1996, including the 200 metres backstroke at three successive Games, and won her first title at the age of fourteen. She is often named among the greatest backstrokers. The number of golds, the events and her age should be checked.

Alternatives: Tamás Darnyi (200 and 400 metres individual medley golds in 1988 and 1992) or Katinka Hosszú (three individual golds at Rio in 2016).
