Exercise 2 - Restoration, reconstruction, reinterpretation (sample answer) Restoration: putting back what was there. Reconstruction: rebuilding what is gone, often from drawings. Reinterpretation: taking the idea and changing the form. Fisherman's Bastion: a nineteenth-century building in a medieval style; it is genuine as a nineteenth-century work, closer to reinterpretation than to a copy of a lost building. Chain Bridge after 1945: a close reconstruction; faithful in form, new in material (check). Reasonable people may classify some cases differently, so give a reason.
