Exercise 2.1 - Solution

- MTK (Magyar Testgyakorlok Kore), founded about 1888: a stylish passing side in the early twentieth century, the club where Jimmy Hogan worked, and often associated with Budapest's Jewish middle class.
- Ferencvaros (FTC), founded about 1899: the "Green Eagles" in green and white, with the largest popular following in Hungary.
- Ujpest, founded about 1885: a working-class club from the north of Budapest, in purple and white, and a regular rival of Ferencvaros.
- Honved, in its post-war form from 1949: the army club, where the state concentrated talent and which supplied most of the Golden Team.

(Founding dates are approximate; sources disagree for some clubs.)
