Exercise 3.3 - Solution

Three reasons (any three of):
- It is told in several versions that disagree about who said what.
- It is found mostly in retellings, not in documents from the time.
- The production-based account explains the format without it.
- It may capture the mood of the period but is not firmly documented.

Sample careful sentence: "It is often said that the programme grew from a suggestion by de Gaulle and Adenauer, but this is not firmly documented."
