Exercise 10.2 - Solution

Sample answer.
Claim: the show was inspired by a suggestion from the French and German leaders of the early 1960s. Classification: legend. To check: look for a contemporary document, press report or a producer's account from the time, ideally from more than one independent source, and note that the production-based account explains the format without it.

Other acceptable choices: 1965 as the start of the international contest (record; check a broadcaster archive); a favourite game or a commentator's catchphrase (memory; check programme listings).
