frmusic1-1, Exercise 3: Checking what you think you know Model answer (an example): Choose, for instance, a song by Edith Piaf. Write down what you believe: the year, the singer and one memory. Then check each against a reliable source such as the national library's catalogue, an archive or a good reference work. Note any corrections: perhaps the year was a re-recording, or the song was written by someone else. The point is the habit of checking, not the particular song. Any song or piece is acceptable if the check is actually carried out.
