frmusic1-10, Exercise 2: The radio quota Model answer: For: the quota keeps French-language song visible and gives new French artists a chance to be heard against larger foreign markets. Claim to check: that without it French-language airplay would have fallen, which needs comparison of airplay figures before and after. Against: the quota forces stations to play music listeners may not want and fits badly with streaming, where listeners choose for themselves. Claim to check: how far audiences actually left stations because of it, and how the quota applies to streaming now. Any one argument on each side is acceptable if the claim to check is named. The chapter does not settle the question.
