frfilmtv1-6, Exercise 3: La Grande Vadrouille Model answer: La Grande Vadrouille (1966) is a comedy in which Bourvil and de Funès help British airmen escape from occupied Paris. It was for more than forty years the most-seen French film in France (check the figures). It is interesting because the serious memory of the war was still difficult, and laughter allowed the French to talk about it. It also tells a comfortable story in which ordinary people are cleverer than the occupiers, which a later generation questioned. The film that later passed it as the most-attended French film in France was Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis (2008).
