I am not a Hungarian speaker, or in any way an expert in Hungarian history or culture. However, my paternal heritage is Hungarian and I have lots of family there so I am creating these pages as a way of learning more about both of these things. My aim, when it comes to the language, is to become at least conversant in it so that I can speak to people when I am visiting Hungary. If you have ever visited Budapest, you may know that it is common enought to encounter English speakers that English-speaking tourists can get by withouth too much difficulty.
Away from the capital, English is less commonly spoken and so learning the language is useful if you wish to explore more of the country.
